Long time, no update

The second half of the 1st season of Ugly Americans premiered a little more than a month ago. Here's some recent drawings, which I think ended up turning out better than the first round of designs, due to fantastic direction.

Took me awhile to finish this, but I really had fun in photoshop this time around, and it has been a very long time since I've enjoyed doing something just for myself.

Robots

When in doubt, draw ladies and/or robots. Maybe throw a Sharkticon in there for good measure. It's been awhile since I've doodled like this, I think my influences are showing a little too much. meh. Sketchbook Pro is super sweet though!

Ugly Americans

Ugly Americans premiered a couple weeks ago, and it's awesome to finally see the finished product. A lot of hard work went into it from everyone involved, and I'm glad to see the first season finished and looking amazing.

*group effort on this bg - I did the initial design, Alex Nistor colored it, and Tim Beckhardt did an amazing job cleaning it up and putting the finishing touches on the drawing (building names, details, etc).

Bent Festival is from the 22-25 of April (http://www.bentfestival.org). It's the 'Annual international art and music festival celebrating DIY electronics, hardware hacking, and circuit bending.' Essentially, all kinds of crazy, hacked tunes and visuals to be enjoyed. I designed the logo for the fest over the weekend. Check out the show!

Alternate Universe

I recently had the chance to work on a new cartoon from Anthony Bourdain. Before I worked on it however, I honestly had no idea who he was. Apparently a lot of other people do though, and are huge fans of his show. These are some backgrounds I designed and painted. Characters were designed by Matt Jenkins, animation done by Kimson Albert, and directed by Greg Poretta. Cut scene from Superjail! The Time Police ep was running 4 mins over the alotted time, I think. This scene I thought was really funny, and was none too happy that it got cut.

I recently got Painter X, and have been having a lot of fun with it. The one at the very bottom was my first attempt. I tried to refine style a little more in the cityscape.
